FAQs
How do I access the property or my casita?
Casitas del Sol keeps the gate and casitas locked for the safety and security of our guests. When you book, you will be sent the access codes to the gate and your casita. If you haven’t booked but would like to tour the property, please contact us on WhatsApp at +506 8461-0487 or email CasitasdelSolCR@gmail.com
What is the Wifi?
The Wifi network and password is posted on the middle column of the kitchen. Your casita welcome book also contains the network and password.
How do I get to Casitas del Sol?
Casitas del Sol is located in Ojochal on the Osa peninsula. From the Costanera take the main Ojochal road; stay on that road until the school. Turn left and cross the bridge. After 400 meters we are on the left. Google Maps or Waze can help too, if you have mobile service.
Where do I find things?
Your casita should be stocked with most things you may need. In the community kitchen, feel free to explore–most pots, pans, mixing bowls, and storage containers are located under the counter opposite the sink. Silverware is on the far end of that counter in containers. Most appliances are out, plug in whatever you need to use. Cooking utensils are between the sink and stove.
If you are looking for something and can’t find it, ask the on-site manager or message +506 8461-0487 (WhatsApp)
What if something happened?
If something happened, is broken, or needs addressed, please report it to on-site staff as soon as possible. If no staff is available, text or call +506 8461-0487 (WhatsApp preferred).
If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or visit the nearest medical facility. Uvita has a good clinic and Cortés has a hospital.
Do my electronics work?
Costa Rica runs on 110V power with plugs like North America. If your devices use different plug styles or you need a voltage converter, please bring those. While here it is recommended to use a surge protector; one is provided in each casita.
What is the weather like?
Typical of the tropics, it may rain while you are here. How else would it be so green? We experience two seasons: the dry season (December-April) and the rainy/green season (April-November).
The dry season is usually warmer with fewer showers. Late-season temperatures can reach the low 90s with infrequent and mild showers. The rainy season brings heavier rain showers and lower temperatures (low- to mid-80s, up to inches of rain).

Do I need to worry about pests?
Costa Rica is home to many dangerous species of animals. Scorpions, snakes, mosquitos, spiders, and crocodiles live here and can be dangerous. Observing from a distance and taking proper precautions will greatly reduce your chances of any problems.
If you notice mosquitoes around, use of bio-friendly repellent is recommended as Dengue fever, Chikungunya, and Zika are present.
How do I leave a review?
We want to know how you liked your visit and if there is anything we could do to make it better next time.
If you stayed with us and booked through AirBnB, you can leave a review on there for future guests to see. If you booked another way or hosted an event, you can leave a review on our Google listing. If there is something more private you wish to share, you can email CasitasdelSolCR@gmail.com.
